ChatGPT Goes Down Globally, Users Lose Access to Conversations

Recently, ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot, experienced a major worldwide outage that prevented users from accessing their conversations. Many reported seeing error messages, failed responses, and in some cases, entire conversation histories disappearing. New messages often failed to load, leaving users unable to continue their chats.

At the peak of the outage, tens of thousands of users were affected simultaneously. The company behind ChatGPT acknowledged the problem, stating that they detected elevated error rates and were actively working to resolve the issue. Gradually, the service began returning online, although users noted slower performance and intermittent issues.

This incident demonstrates that even highly advanced AI platforms can experience unexpected downtime, which may disrupt ongoing work or erase stored conversations. Users relying heavily on ChatGPT for important tasks are reminded of the importance of having backups or offline alternatives to protect their data
